Why I like rainbow colours so much
Once upon a time
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, God created the heavens and the earth and all that in them is.
Starting from scratch
Then after we well and truly mucked up over and over again, our Father decided to start from scratch. He threw out the spoiled batch, saved some pure seed and here we are today as offspring of Noah and his descendants.
Then God did an amazing thing. What did he do? The Lord made a covenant with our forefather Noah. Our Creator promised Noah and his descendants that never again the earth will be flooded as it was in those days.
The Promise sealed with a bow
And then, and then, the Creator of Heaven and Earth created the most magnificent rainbow in the sky humanity has ever seen. And this bow, God said, is a sign of the covenant between Himself and humanity that He will never flood the earth again as it was in those days. Alleluia!
If that is not reason to smile and laugh, I don’t know what is.
That is why I like rainbow colours so much; they remind me, as they are supposed to, that despite our failings, God won’t ever flood the earth again.
This is a true story, I did not make it up. You can check it out for yourself at Genesis 5-9 in the Holy Word.
