It is the Passover!

To celebrate the Passover I am sharing the Passover Special  with Nehemia Gordon and friends and also ‘From Slavery to Freedom’ from Nehemia Gordon’s website.

This is an interview that Nehemia had with Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski who draws on his vast experience as a world-renowned Rabbi and psychiatrist to explain why it is important to get out of our comfort zone in order to achieve true spirituality.

Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski  is the author of over 70 books and a canonical Jewish prayer sung in every synagogue, Rabbi Twerski’s stature in the Jewish world parallels that of Billy Graham in the Christian world. He opens the episode singing a Psalm, shares how he once saved a man by getting a special dispensation from the Pope, and describes a practical plan to break the chains of spiritual slavery in order to attain true freedom and maximize our full potential and purpose in life.

YOM KIPPUR DRAFT booklet

Next Friday is Yom Kippur.  To celebrate Yom Kippur I like to share my draft booklet with you. You can download it by clicking on this link BOOK YOM KIPPUR MANUSCRIPT . It is an easy read at only 39 pages long in A5 format.

I wrote this booklet on Yom Kippur because I wasn’t able to find Yom Kippur guidance for people who like to follow the Bible instead of Jewish tradition or rabbinical tradition or Christian tradition. I just wondered what God’s Word has to say about the Holy Day of Yom Kippur and so far this is what I have come up with. If anyone is interested to find out how the Jewish people celebrate Yom Kippur there are many good references to be found on the Chabad.org site.

I like to follow what the Bible has to say about anything and this can be different from Jewish or Christian traditions. If anyone wants to comment on the booklet or make constructive suggestions on how to improve this booklet on Yom Kippur I love to hear about it. For now this is a draft and freely available to anyone who likes to comment and give their opinion. Once the booklet is polished I will publish it.

The difference between the dates that I mention for celebrating Yom Kippur and the dates advertised by most of the Jewish community is because I follow the Karaite (Jewish) calendar. This calendar follows the dates for the Feasts as is determined according to instructions that are given in the Bible.
