Life For Evermore

Life For Evermore … a blessing

I thought that I was going to die but instead I survived and found out that there is a manual that tells us how to live forever. How cool is that?

For the last six  months or so I’ve listed all the occasions where the words ‘live for ever’ are mentioned in my bible. The amount of time these words are mentioned may differ in the various bible translations. In the bible translation I am using at the moment, the King James,  the last six times the words ‘live for ever’ were mentioned are to be found in the book of Revelation.

In a search throughout the King James translation of the bible the words ’live for ever’ come up 28 times in total but only around 19 of these apply to living forever and around 7 of these occasions were royal greetings. That leaves 12 other occasions where the words ‘live for ever’ are mentioned.
Starting in July last year I’ve listed all of these occasions. The very first time the word’s ‘live for ever’ occur in the bible is where God said,

Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

This was after Adam and Even disobeyed God’s commandment which resulted in them being banned from the garden of Eden.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Adam and Eve discovered that living forever more goes hand in hand with obedience to our Creator.

I’ve reposted the video because I couldn’t even find it back on my own blog. It is embedded in the first post I wrote, which can be found at the bottom of this really long blogpost that contains all the posts I’ve done on living for ever. Or the video can be found as part of the first post, on its own when I explain where the concept of living for ever comes from.

The Blessing of Life for Evermore

Apart from the previous posts I’ve written, where the words ‘live for ever’ are mentioned, there are other occasions in the bible where living for ever is referred to. It is also mentioned for instance in Psalm 133 as quoted below. And what we discover here is that life for evermore is not to be taken for granted but is a blessing which the LORD bestows upon his faithful and loyal followers.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

I like promises and blessings.

I like promises and blessings as much as the next person. What I don’t like is when people misinterpret very clear manuals and take things for granted. For the brief period that my family attended church we sat in pews next to well-meaning parishioners who all seemed pretty comfy in their ‘sureness of being saved.’

It must be wonderful to have such confidence in one’s salvation. All I can think of is the occasions were Jesus referred to a humble tax collector and a Samaritan, who both were doing the right thing and Jesus contrasted them against the so-called ‘religious’ folk.

Just saying that according to scripture ‘living forever’ is not set aside specifically and exclusively for the ‘religious,’ those with their bums on church pews or kneeling down in synagogues.

According to scripture the blessing of living forever is promised to any of us who wants to grab hold of it and decides to abide by GOD’s rules and be part of His posse.

Love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for sharing with me.

ABOUT THIS BLOG – We’re researching the truth of living forever according to GOD’s Holy Word; Sola Scripture. Popular opinion tells us that everyone who ‘believes’ and has ‘faith’ will go to heaven. Is this true? I decided to ask the prophets about the truth of it all.
